Get to know me!! Sylvester Croom - Mississippi State

It's time for part two in our twelve part epic miniseries event of the summer, "Get to know me!", helping you to better know the head football coaches of the Southeastern Conference. Next up, Sylvester Croom is Mississippi State.

I'm Sylvester Croom, and we gotta get these mothaf-ing losses off of my mothaf-ing record!!

As you may or may not have heard, as there was exactly zero media attention drawn to it, when Sylvester Croom was hired by Mississippi State two years ago he was the first African-American head coach in the SEC. Having not been hired for the Alabama position, despite his companionship with The Bear and having a team award named after him, Sylvester was given the task of trying to remind the athletes of Mississippi State that they once had a football team that won games. Even if they were corrupt and this guy was the head coach:
"Take my football team, please!"

Despite being handed one of the worst teams in the Western Division/SEC-as-a-whole/D-1A/MAC-Eastern Conference, Croom has stayed upbeat and while he has guided his Bulldogs to only 6 victories over the past two season, he is forever a hero to Gator fans as there is no doubt that Mississippi State's 38-31 victory over Florida pretty much sealed the fate of The Zooker.

Here's to you Sylvester Croom, may you somehow turn around your historically shitty program!

Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait!

Sylvester Croom is black? When did this happen? How come nobody told me? Geesh, you'd think someone would have made kind of a big deal about it. I mean...black?!? Really?

I think you've attributed "Take my wife, please" to the wrong vaudvillian comic. Not Jackie Mason.

Curses! But its not as easy to equate Jackie Sherril to Henny Youngman!

Actually, Henny Youngman was known to cut the balls off of bulls during his performances too.
